From NBC I7:

That’s because Gurley is a fast-rising, multi-talented senior. Offense, defense – it doesn’t matter. The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder excels on both sides of the ball, which is why he is one of NBC-17’s Super 17 football players for the 2011 season.

"I wouldn't be surprised if after a couple of years they have him playing on both sides of the ball at a major college," Tarboro coach Jeff Craddock said. "He's that talented."

Gurley said he doesn't have a preference.

"I love defense. I love safety. But deep down inside, I have that love for running back, so I feel that’s my best position in college," he said.

North Carolina, N.C. State, Auburn, Georgia, Clemson, South Carolina, Notre Dame and more feel the same way. All of those schools want Gurley to tote the ball for them.

His coach knows why.

"He can go to a major college and contribute as a freshman and by the time he's a sophomore, he's the premier running back and one of the best if not the best running backs in the nation," Craddock said.

Last year, Gurley ran for 1,500 yards and 26 touchdowns. That's not bad for a guy who played most of the the season on – you guessed it – turf toe.
