4-star 2017 offensive tackle
Blake Vinson from Citra, Florida (North Marion) committed to Clemson while on an unofficial visit on Sunday.
Vinson has national offers from Alabama, Auburn, Boston College, Clemson, Duke, Florida, Florida Atlantic, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Illinois, LSU, Miami, Missouri, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Ole Miss, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, USF, Tennessee, USF, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
TigerNet spoke with Vinson last year after an unofficial visit.
"I loved all of the coaches," Vinson said. "I got to talk to Caldwell for about 25 minutes in his office, and I like him a lot. The coaching staff thinks I have the size to play offensive tackle or guard."
Clemson offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell is the main recruiter for Vinson.
He also enjoyed watching Clemson's high tempo practice.
"Practice was great," he said. "The speed and tempo these teams work with is crazy."
Clemson's football facilities and surrounding areas were also extremely impressive to him.
"The facilities were crazy," Vinson said. "Everything in the football area is the nicest I've seen. They said they're building a whole new facility too. Can't wait to see that."
He is a good student and also has a 4.60 shuttle, 28" vertical, 310 lb bench press and a 400-pound squat. His high school football team lost in the second round of the playoffs.
Vinson becomes Clemson's 6th commit including the third 4-star offensive lineman for the 2017 recruiting class.
