Watson ranked in Top 3 in ESPN's QB rankings |
ESPN analyst Brock Huard has released his
Top 10 quarterback power rankings on Tuesday afternoon and Clemson sophomore quarterback is ranked #3 in all of college football.
"Conditions were rainy, windy and sloppy at Clemson this weekend, but Watson played very well," Huard said. "He was the most electric player on the field against Notre Dame, and he simply would not be denied. Nearly a year removed from a serious knee injury, Watson's serious explosion was back in his running legs; what a difference that makes to the confidence in his offensive huddle, not to mention the fear from the opposing defensive huddle. With four interceptions on the season (including picks in his last three games), Watson has already doubled up on his picks from 2014. That trend that has to stop if the Tigers want to remain in the playoff hunt in a diminished ACC." Watson has completed 68 for 99 passes for 725 yards and nine touchdowns and four interceptions for a quarterback efficiency rating of 152.12. He also has 186 yards rushing (46.5 yards) and a solid 227.8 yards per game this season. The rest of the power QB rankings list includes Trevone Boykin, Connor Cook, Cody Kessler, Jared Goff, Dak Prescott, Kevin Hogan, Baker Mayfield, Brandon Doughty and Paxton Lynch.
