made the list at #7 overall.

"Was starting to deliver on his huge recruiting hype last year as a true freshman before tearing an ACL in October," Forde said. "Now he’s back and healthy and leading the ACC favorites in search of what would be Clemson’s second league title since 1991. He’ll have plenty of marquee opportunities to make a name. The three biggest: at Louisville on a Thursday night in September; Notre Dame in early October; Florida State in early November."

In his rookie campaign, Watson completed 67.9% of his passes for 1,466 yards (10.7 per attempt) with 14 touchdowns and only two interceptions for a tremendous quarterback rating of 188.57. Another superlative is that he had a nation's best 10.7 yards per pass attempt.

Watson has been impressive since the beginning of fall camp.

Two ACC quarterbacks made the list with Everett Golson (#4) and Justin Thomas (#21). Other notables ranked include Malik Zaire (#10) and former Clemson signal-caller Chad Kelly (#25).
