SI.com released its latest Heisman Watch list, and Clemson sophomore quarterback Deshaun Watson was ranked as the #1 player in college football.

Deshaun Watson had an impressive individual performance in leading his #1 ranked team to a 37-27 road victory over Syracuse on Saturday.

Watson was 34 for 47 passing for 360 yards and two touchdowns with an interception and also rushed 13 times for 101 yards. It was his second straight 100-yard rushing game of the season.

His 461 total offense on Saturday was the highest total of his career, and he is now 14-1 (GT 2014) as Clemson's starting quarterback.

He also climbed into fifth place in Clemson history with 37 career touchdown passes ahead of Nealon Green, who had 35.

"He’s currently the ACC’s most accurate passer (70.1%) and its leader in total offense (319.1 yards) per game," SI.com stated. "He is second to North Carolina’s Marquise Williams in passing efficiency, but Watson averages seven more attempts per game. Right now the Tigers are the team to beat in college football, and as long as that’s the case, Watson should remain the player to beat in the Heisman race."

The remainder of the players on the Heisman Watch include RB Derrick Henry (#2), RB Ezekiel Elliott (#3), RB Dalvin Cook (#4) and QB Baker Mayfield (#5).

Players that barely missed the cut are RB Christian McCaffrey, RB Leonard Fournette and RB Royce Freeman according to the website.
