Watson ranked #1 in SI.com's Heisman Watch

Clemson sophomore quarterback Deshaun Watson had a gutsy performance in leading his #1 ranked team to a 23-13 victory over division rival Florida State on Saturday.

SI.com released its latest Heisman Watch list and Watson was ranked the #1 player in college football.

Watson was 28-42 passing for 297 yards and 107 yards rushing in the hard-fought triumph. The 107 rushing yards was a career-high for Watson and the most rushing yards for a quarterback since Tajh Boyd had 127 yards against Ohio State in the 40-35 Orange Bowl win.

"Now Watson and the Tigers hold the keys to an ACC title in their hands," SI.com said. "That also means a possible trip to the playoff and a chance for the program’s first national championship since 1981. Watson is the headliner for the No. 1 team in the country, and he’s doing it as a true sophomore coming off a torn ACL. He should remain the Heisman frontrunner if the Tigers stay undefeated."

The remainder of the players on the Heisman Watch included RB Derrick Henry (#2), RB Christian McCaffrey, RB Leonard Fournette and RB Ezekiel Elliott.
