Watson ranked #1 QB for 2016 season

CBSSports.com has released it latest article recently with its top five quarterbacks for the 2016 season and Clemson junior quarterback Deshaun Watson was listed as the top quarterback in the nation.

"There are a handful of reasons why Watson can be the face of college football in 2016, as well. Early mock drafts from Pro Football Focus to here at CBS have Watson as the No. 1 overall pick for the '17 draft (subject to change, of course)," CBSSports.com. "Plus, Clemson's offense returns just about everybody: Artavis Scott, Deon Cain, Jordan Leggett, Wayne Gallman -- oh, and Mike Williams, who missed practically all of last season with a neck injury. Like we said, e-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y."

"Watson is the most complete quarterback heading into next season," CBSSports.com said. "He has speed and mobility, a strong arm and better-than-advertised decision-making and touch on his throws. He'll get a lot of NFL chatter and the Tigers, once again, will be in a position to compete for an ACC title -- maybe more. He's not the most exciting pick, but he's the surest pick."

Watson finished third in the Heisman Trophy balloting last season and will be one of the favorites in 2016. Watson completed 333-of-491 passes for 4,104 yards and 35 touchdowns and also had 207 rushes for 1,105 yards and 12 scores this past season. He became the first player in NCAA FBS history to throw for 4,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in the same season.

The Top five quarterbacks in the rankings were Deshaun Watson, Baker Mayfield, J.T. Barrett, Josh Rosen and Greg Ward Jr.
