Clemson sophomore quarterback Deshaun Watson jumped up a spot to the #3 ranking in SI.com's Heisman Watch after a 56-41 shootout win over NC State on Halloween in Week 9 action of the college football season.

SI.com's Heisman Watch list includes RB Leonard Fournette (#1), QB Trevone Boykin (#2), QB Deshaun Watson (#3), RB Derrick Henry (#4) and RB Christian McCaffrey (#5). Watson and Henry actually flipped positions in the rankings which was the only change from last week.

Watson finished the game completing 23-30 passes for 383 yards and five touchdowns, and he also had 14 carries for 54 yards and a score.

The six scores was tied for his career high back against North Carolina in 2014. He is now 12-1 as a starting quarterback at Clemson which is the greatest QB record after 13 games in school history.

Watson, who is second in the nation in QBR according to ESPN, had a passing efficiency rating of 238.91, the best in Clemson history given a minimum of 30 attempts, and the best by an FBS player this past week, giving a minimum of 30 attempts.

He has 1,936 passing yards, 20 passing touchdowns and 386 rushing yards on the season.

In his rookie campaign, Watson completed 67.9% of his passes for 1,466 yards (10.7 per attempt) with 14 touchdowns and only two interceptions for an excellent quarterback rating of 188.57. He also had five scores rushing. Another superlative is that he had a nation's best 10.7 yards per pass attempt.
