WATCH: Renfrow sees award nomination as incredible honor

Clemson veteran receiver Hunter Renfrow was named a semifinalist for the 2018 Burlsworth Trophy on Tuesday, an honor given annually given to the most outstanding player in America that started out as a walk-on.

Renfrow shared his appreciation of his nomination during Tuesday's media access.

"It was an incredible honor," he said. "I actually just found out about it about thirty minutes ago and I was reading up on it and it's a cool foundation that does a lot for children that are in need. It's cool to just be mentioned, Baker Mayfield was a walk-on and won the Heisman last year. There is a lot of good players in college football that started as a walk-on and it's just special and something that I have always taken with me coming to practice every day just knowing I'm a walk-on. To be recognized as one of the finalists of that award, it's pretty special."

Renfrow has 27 receptions for 305 yards and a receiving touchdown in 2018.

During his collegiate career at Clemson, he has 164 catches for 1894 yards and 15 scores.
