Clemson defensive end Vic BeasleyVic Beasley
RS Sr. Defensive End
#3 6-2, 236
View Full Profile measured in at 6-3 246 pounds with 32 1/2" arms and 9 3/8" hands at the NFL combine on Friday morning.
This heavier weight will help his draft stock because of past concerns that he would be too light (225-230 lbs) to effectively play defensive end in the NFL.
He has gained 10+ pounds since he left Clemson to train for the NFL combine.
Beasley's next test at the NFL combine will be Sunday when he can show off his speed to scouts at the 40 yard dash. The speed test will be important because many teams see Beasley as a hybrid OLB in the NFL.
Here is one NFC scout's take on Vic Beasley's future position in the NFL.
"I know everyone will have him pegged as a 3-4 edge guy, but I think 4-3 defenses would be crazy not to consider him as a WILL or SAM who can bump down as an edge rusher in third downs," said a NFC East scout. Denver does it with Von Miller, so why not consider it?"
Weigh-in winners: Shane Ray (6'2 5/8" 245 lbs) and Vic Beasley with a shocking 246 lbs at 6'3".— Matt Miller (@nfldraftscout) February 20, 2015
