Clemson, S.C.—Tuesday’s two-hour afternoon Clemson football practice closed the books on preseason camp. The Tigers begin classes on Wednesday and there will be no football activity that day.

“Today’s practice put camp in he books,” said Swinney. “It is now time to turn the page to Georgia”

has calmed Swinney’s nerves. “Joe Gore has been tremendous. I hoped that someone would step up at tackle and Joe has. He might be our best offensive lineman this camp.”

. “Vic is ready to play,” said Swinney. “He is going to be a handful (for the opponent). At times this camp I have told coach (Marion) Hobby to take him out. He has a great work ethic. I believe he is going to have an outstanding
