Swinney on possibly winning CFB title: "It would mean we’re the best ever"

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was on the Jim Rome show on Monday and the coach had a strong statement if his Tigers can win two more games and become national champions.
"It would mean we’re the best ever. There’s never been a 15-0 college football team," Swinney said. "So somebody is going to do it eventually, and might as well be us. But first things first, you can’t win 15 till you win 14, and so that’s our focus, trying to beat an Oklahoma team, like I said, that is playing probably as good or better than anybody in the country. Their quarterback’s been amazing and playing great on defense as usual, so it’s going to be a great game and we’re going to go out and play and put our best foot forward and hopefully we can find a way to win the game and have a chance at another one. But it’s not going to be easy, none of them have, and anytime you win a championship, it’s never easy."
Swinney also addressed the on-side kick in the final minute of the ACC Championship and actually saw a targeting call on North Carolina.
"I saw a flag come out, and I didn’t really know what the call was, but really thought I should have gotten a targeting call," Swinney said. "That was probably one of the worst targeting hits I’ve ever seen on our guy that didn’t get called,” Swinney said. “But you know it’s a bang-bang play, and they called them offsides, and we were able to come up with the next one and finish the game."
