Swinney details who will pay for pizza party in Death Valley |
Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney laughed following Wednesday's practice when he was asked if he was prepared to pay for a pizza party if the Tigers are still ranked atop the polls on December 6th, the day after the regular season concludes.
During Tuesday's press conference, Swinney said he didn't care where the Tigers were ranked in November but promised a pizza party if the Tigers are still number one in early December. "We’re excited because we’ve had a great season. That’s what we’re excited about," Swinney said. "The only poll we’re excited about is December 6th. I promise you we will have the biggest poll party you’ve ever seen. We’ll open up Death Valley and serve pizza to everybody on December 6th. That will be a time to celebrate a poll. Until then, it just doesn’t matter. Our focus is on trying to beat Florida State.” Clemson was ranked first in Tuesday's initial College Football Playoff rankings, but still have four regular-season games and a possible ACC Championship Game. However, TigerNet asked Swinney after Wednesday's practice if he had thought about how the party would be paid for. "It's my job to get us there," Swinney said with a laugh. "It's D-Rad's (AD Dan Radakovich) job to pay for it. I'll split it with him."
