Finally, Watkins could feel at home, too -- some three years after arriving at Clemson. “When I had that little bump in the road, I think it was time I needed them down here,” Watkins said in a recent phone interview. “Every son wants his mom down here. I missed them, and my family missed me. So they came down, which helped me a lot just being around them every day. I can go home any time. I went home the other night, had a great meal with them. It’s been great.”
