Report: Rockets will try to resign McDaniels |
Former Clemson standout K.J. McDaniels saw very little court time with the veteran Houston Rockets team after being traded by the Philadelphia 76ers in February.
However, according to a report by the Houston Chronicle, the Rockets will try to resign K.J. McDaniels and Kostas Papanikolaou. The Rockets only have 8 players under contract for this summer and resigning McDaniels would give them a legit young defender on the wing to mix in with their veteran players. McDaniels finished the regular season averaging 7.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.1 blocks per game. He played in only 10 out of 29 games with the Rockets (including the postseason) and logged 33 total minutes (1.13 minutes per game) since the trade from Philadelphia. He was a first-team All-ACC selection and the ACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2013-14 while at Clemson. He led the Tigers in points (614), rebounds (255), blocks (100), steals (41) and three-pointers (42) - the only player in the country to lead his team in all five categories.
