Jenkins suffered a torn ACL injury and missed his rookie season back in 2011, but rebounded to start 14 games in 2012 and had 25 tackles. In 2013 (five starts), he had two sacks and followed that up in 2014 (14 starts) with 28 tackles and no sacks. He was the #41st overall pick (2nd round) in the 2011 NFL draft.

He is still a young versatile defensive lineman with talent as he is only 26-years old. He played both defensive end and nose tackle (at different times) for the Redskins in 2014.
