Petition started to change Clemson-SC Gametime |
An online
petition to the NCAA has been created to change the kickoff time of the rivalry game between Clemson (10-0) and South Carolina (3-7) on Saturday, November 28, 12 PM at Williams-Brice Stadium.
South Carolina fans have had four home games at noon this season (UCF, Mizzou, Florida, Citadel) and prefer not to have an additional one to close out their home slate of games. "Move the Carolina vs. Clemson game to a new time," the Petition states. "3:30pm, 4:00pm, 6:00pm. Something other than noon. The Carolina-Clemson rivalry is one the most passionate rivalry in all of college football and giving the Gamecocks a noon game in their undeniably most important game of the year takes away the one thing that Gamecocks need the most right now. Please change the kickoff time of this game." The organizer of the petition thinks that both teams have "huge implications" riding on the contest. "This game, however, hold huge implications for both teams," the Petition states. "Clemson could be one game away from the playoffs with a win vs Carolina. As for USC, winning this game would cap of a certainly rough season in the most perfect way, playing upset to it's biggest rival. But most of all, being under a Carolina sunset, with 85,000 of your closet friends Sandstorming in Williams-Brice Stadium is what we need right now, and is something we haven't been able to see for too long of a time now." The Tigers defeated the Gamecocks 35-17 last season in Death Valley. 1,012 supporters have signed the petition in the first three hours of it being started online on Monday. Tuesday morning update - 5,206 supporters have signed the online petition.
