NCAA tournament projection for Clemson |
The Clemson basketball team (11-6, 4-1) has run off four straight ACC league victories and put themselves squarely into the conversation for a future NCAA tournament bid.
With the 68-63 win against #9 Duke, Clemson won its second straight game against a ranked opponent (Louisville) since 1989. The Tigers had lost seven straight against ranked opponents until the wins against Louisville and Duke. ESPN Bracketologist Joe Lunardi has Clemson as a bubble team as one of the first 8 out of his current NCAA field according to his latest projections. A win today over the #8 ranked Hurricanes (13-2, 2-1) would probably push them into the tournament in his next round of projections. The Tigers are a four-point home underdog against Miami on Saturday, 2 pm EST at the Bon Secours Wellness Center. The next four games for Clemson will be against #13 Virginia (Tuesday), #20 Pittsburgh (Jan. 27), Florida State and Wake Forest. FIRST OUT: SHall, StJoes, UTA, Stanford. NEXT OUT: Bama, Clem, Marq, ArizSt. FOUR MORE: Wake, LSU, Vandy, BYU.
