Jameis Winston on Clemson, Deshaun Watson

by - Assoc. Editor -

During Sunday's ACC media day, Florida State quarterback Jamesis Winston was interviewed about various topics by the assorted media.

Winston had the following to say about last year's Clemson vs Florida State game: "Clemson had a great team with Sammy and Tajh. But we knew that us being the underdogs, we love feeling like we're the underdogs, because it gave us the motivation we needed."

Also, TigerNet.com's David Hood asked Winston if he had any advice for another up and coming star quarterback in Clemson's Deshaun Watson. "Well, he has to get on the field first. I've seen him, outstanding talent, and I think he is an outstanding player. But I think the main thing is influence. As a young quarterback you have to earn that respect and you have to earn that trust, and that's one thing that Florida State did - they allowed me to come in and take the position. I had the privilege of sitting behind E.J. for a year before I stepped into the fire. He will probably get thrown into the ring early."
