Dan Brooks said during an interview during the Clemson media golf outing on the Reserve at Keowee on Wednesday that Huggins will be a very good player at Clemson whether it will be at defensive end or defensive tackle.
"I think Albert is a very talented guy and he is one of those guys that our head coach tells all of them that we sign we are going to start you out where you want to be (position-wise)," Brooks said about Huggins. "That was a big deal in recruiting because he wanted to be a defensive end. He worked there for two or two and a half weeks of spring ball and obviously Coach Hobby was very involved with him in recruiting. I had been down there and stuff but never from the standpoint that we are going to put you at tackle."
Huggins actually started the discussion with Clemson coaches about practicing at defensive tackle.
"So after we practiced for a while, he came to us and said that he wanted to look at that (defensive tackle) because he was at 280 pounds when he showed up. He is going to help us with the depth we have at defensive end, he might have to still be there (DE) and help us there (DE). Albert is a guy that we can help us early wherever he is. Coach Hobby and I worked together good and we are going to put out the best guys and if Albert is one of those guys. There is no question he will be a very good player here wherever he ends up that is best suited for him."
