Herbstreit still picking Clemson to win CFB title

Herbstreit still picking Clemson to win CFB title

by - Assoc. Editor -

ESPN analyst and college football commentator Kirk Herbstreit recently gave his preseason predictions on the four teams that would make the 2016 college football playoff with Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State, and his darkhorse TCU. Herbstreit went on to predict that Clemson (2-0, 0-0 ACC) would win the national championship this season.

After two difficult victories that have surprised many in the Clemson fanbase, Herbstreit is still confident that the Tigers will win it all.

"Yes providing they start playing with a chip on their shoulder," Herbstreit tweeted. "Been saying same thing in air last two weeks. Too many compliments can be VERY dangerous in CFB."

Herbstreit realizes that Clemson has not been clicking on all cylinders through two games this season.

"Sleepwalking," Herbstreit tweeted. "Have lost their edge [Clemson] so far. Maybe dropping in rankings will wake them up. Just not sharp."

The Tigers look to try to go 3-0 against South Carolina State on Saturday at 12 pm EST at Death Valley.
