GSU to receive over 1 million for 2018 game vs Clemson

by - Assoc. Editor -

Clemson has added a home football game against the Georgia Southern Eagles in 2018 to their future schedule according to school officials today.

The game will be played on Sept. 15 and GSU athletic director Tom Kleinlein told savannahow.com that GSU will earn $1.1 million plus tickets to sell, which is estimated to be worth around another $100K.

Georgia Southern just finished their first season in the Sun Belt conference where they were undefeated in the conference (8-0) and finished 9-3 overall.

These Eagles are no cupcakes as they lost to N.C. State by a single point and fell to Georgia Tech by only four points in 2014.

The other non-conference matchups for Clemson in 2018 include Furman, Texas A&M and rival South Carolina.
