Clemson, S.C.—Former Clemson All-America receiver DeAndre Hopkins has been named to the NFL Pro Bowl. The starting receiver for the Houston Texans is the first former Tiger named to the NFL Pro Bowl since 2012 when C.J. Spiller was selected.

The Pro Bowl will be played January 31, 2016 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Hopkins has 97 receptions for 1315 yards and 10 touchdowns this year, all team bests and ranked in the top 10 in the NFL. His 97 receptions and 1315 yards both rank fourth in the NFL and his 10 touchdown receptions rank seventh. He has five 100-yard receiving games and averages 94 yards per game, fifth best in the league. His top game was against Indianapolis when he had 11 catches for 169 yards. He has 74 receptions that have gone for first downs, second best in the NFL.

The native of Central, S.C. and Daniel High School has 225 catches for 3,327 yards and 18 touchdowns in a little less than three seasons with the Texans.

Hopkins is the first former Clemson receiver to make the NFL Pro Bowl since 1982 when Dwight Clark made the game for a second straight year. Jerry Butler also was named in 1980.
