FSU star safety out against Clemson

by - Assoc. Editor -

Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher held his weekly call-in show on Wednesday night and shared that star safety Derwin James will be out for Saturday night's rivalry game with Clemson.

"Hopefully Derwin will be back here soon," Fisher said.

James has missed the last five games with a torn meniscus injury during the Charleston Southern game in which he was carted off the field. For the season in two games, he has 11 tackles and an interception. Fisher said on Monday that they do not plan on redshirting James but hope he is back to play at some point and available in the bowl game.

A.J. Westbrook and Ermon Lane are two players expected to fill the shoes while James is out.
