ESPN talks Kieboom's success

by -

According to Heather Dinich of ESPN:

"Kieboom ranks in the top 10 in the ACC with a .360 batting average along with 32 hits despite not playing in five games this season. He also has 22 RBIs to go along with a .455 on-base percentage. He is 13-for-33 (.394) with runners in scoring position, as well."

Last month, Kieboom was added to the Johnny Bench Award watch list.

Not bad for a catcher less than a year removed from the Tigers' bench.

The difference, he said, is confidence.

"People recruit you for a reason -- they know you can play baseball, but after that, it really comes down to your own mental approach and confidence," he said. "When you first come into a new team, you feel a little hesitant to do something you'd normally do on another team. Now this is my team. Clemson is my team, ever since last year."
