View Full Profile was selected by the Houston Texans with the 27th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Other wide receivers in that class included Tavon Austin (#8th overall pick) and Cordarelle Patterson (#29th pick overall).
ESPN analysts did a re-draft of the 2013 NFL class on Thursday and picked Hopkins #10 overall. It was a seventeen pick jump from where he was actually drafted.
In two years in the NFL, Hopkins has 128 catches for 2012 yards and eight touchdowns. The 1210 yards accounted for 35% of the Texans' receiving yards which was the most in the entire league.
In 2014, Hopkins had 76 catches (127 targets) for 1,210 yards and 6 touchdowns despite spotty quarterback play with Ryan Fitzpatrick, Ryan Mallet and Case Keenum. His 76 receptions were 26th in the NFL and his 1,210 yards were an impressive 12th-best in the NFL.
During the off-season, the Texans released long-time franchise wide receiver Andre Johnson. This will cement Hopkins as WR1 in Houston and may lead to more targets and opportunities. The Texans might draft a wide receiver in the first few rounds to help their wide receiver depth.
Hopkins had 206 receptions for 3020 yards and 27 touchdowns while at Clemson and was named a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award and first-team All-ACC by several publications.
