TigerNet learned that Clemson left-handed starter
Jake Higginbotham has been shut down for the rest of the season with an arm injury. Higginbotham has a stress fracture in his elbow, but should be able to throw again in the fall. The injury was not a UCL tear, which is more serious and would have needed a long recovery time.
Higginbotham has pitched 33.1 innings over eight games (seven starts) and has a 3-0 record with a 4.59 ERA. He's allowed 39 hits, 22 runs - 17 earned - 21 walks, and 28 strikeouts.
