Clemson assistant coaching staff ranked #2 in highest salaries

The Clemson Football team has won back-to-back ACC titles and one of the pivotal reasons is the solid coaching job and player development by the assistant coaches.

Two assistant coaches this season have already won national assistant coach of the year awards with Brent Venables and Dan Brooks.

USA Today released their latest NCAA Salaries database on Wednesday and Clemson was ranked #2 in college football with $5.4 million worth of salaries paid to their assistant coaches behind only LSU at $5.8 million.

Venables had the second-highest assistant salary in the nation with a salary of $1,558,000 behind only Texas A&M's John Chavis.

Co-offensive coordinators Tony Elliott and Jeff Scott were both ranked #43 overall with a salary of $643,750.

Other salaries listed:

Marion Hobby $507,083 (#93 overall)
Robbie Caldwell $474,167 (#119 overall)
Dan Brooks $457,917 (#125 overall)
Danny Pearman $441,667 (#139 overall)
Mike Reed $407,500 (#174 overall)
Brandon Streeter $383,333 (#198 overall)
