Clemson Basketball releases 2016-17 ACC Schedule |
CLEMSON, S.C. — The full men’s basketball schedule for 2016-17 was announced Monday by the Atlantic Coast Conference. With the reopening of Littlejohn Coliseum this season, Clemson’s home slate is highlighted by games against two opponents that advanced to the 2016 Final Four, North Carolina and Syracuse. Season tickets are available by calling 1-800-CLEMSON or visiting ClemsonTigers.com.
Some game times and television designations are still in the selection process, and will be announced at a later date. The non-conference portion of the schedule was previously announced during the summer. One date was changed, as the SC State game originally set for December 14 will now be held on the 13th due to commencement preparation. “I’m excited about the season. Our guys have worked extremely hard in the weight room and during individual workouts,” said head coach Brad Brownell. “The improvements to Littlejohn Coliseum will make for an exciting gameday atmosphere, especially as we compete against a tough ACC schedule.” Clemson opens the ACC regular season at Wake Forest on New Year’s Eve, marking the first time the Tigers play on December 31 since the 2006-07 season. Clemson will play the Demon Deacons both home and away, in addition to Florida State, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech. The home portion of league play opens Tuesday, January 3 with defending NCAA Tournament runner-up North Carolina. The Tigers are in search of their first win over the Tar Heels since 2010. Clemson faces Syracuse just over a month later on February 7. The Tigers have won twice over the Orange since they joined the ACC in 2013, including 74-73 in overtime last season in the Carrier Dome. While Clemson opens with three of its first four ACC games on the road, the Tigers will enjoy three consecutive home games to conclude league play. Senior Day will be celebrated on Saturday, March 4 against Boston College. Date Day Opponent Time TV Nov. 11 Fri.
