Clemson Baseball adds nine to 2014 Team

Clemson, SC - Clemson Baseball Head Coach Jack Leggett announced the addition of nine players, who have already begun classes, on Wednesday. All nine players are eligible for the 2014 season. The newcomers include two players who were selected in the 2013 Major League draft. Infielder Eli White was a 26th-round draft pick of the Cincinnati Reds and catcher Chris Okey was a 31st-round draft pick of the San Diego Padres.

Glenn Batson, 3B/1B

• Top-500 player in the nation by Perfect Game

• #9 player and #1 third-baseman in South Carolina by Diamond Prospects

• All-state selection as a sophomore and senior

• Region player-of-the-year as a sophomore and senior

• All-region selection as a sophomore and senior

• Lettered three times in baseball and three times in football

• Coached by Steve Scolamiero at Greenville High School

• His grandfather, Louis P. Batson, Jr., is a Clemson University Trustee Emeritus

• His uncle, Bill Spiers, was an All-America shortstop at Clemson (1985-87) and went on to play 13 seasons (1989-01) in the Major Leagues with the Milwaukee Brewers, New York Mets, and Houston Astros

• Majoring in community recreation, sport, & camp management

Alex Bostic, LHP/OF

Tucker Burgess, RHP

Hunter Hill, LHP
