C.J. Spiller was inactive against Raiders

by - Assoc. Editor -

Former Clemson standout C.J. Spiller was on the inactive list for the New Orleans Saints' 35-34 loss against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday afternoon.

The Saints had 88 rushing yards on 22 attempts with Mark Ingram, Tim Hightower, and Travaris Cadet getting the bulk of the carries.

Spiller wasn't on the injury list last week and appeared to be a healthy scratch from the lineup as Marcus Murphy and Travaris Cadet were the preferred choices as change-of-pace backs.

He finished his injury-plagued 2015 NFL season with 36 carries for 112 yards and 34 catches (on 44 targets) for 239 yards and two receiving touchdowns. For his NFL career with the Bills and Saints, Spiller has 704 rushes for 3,433 yards and 12 scores.

He signed a four-year, $16 million deal last offseason as a free agent.
