will test his ankle out on Monday or Tuesday to see if he will be available for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

“It’s a high ankle (sprain), which is normally a little bit worse than the other ones,” said Marrone.

The official diagnosis certainly explains why Spiller has struggled to get back to full strength. High ankle sprains can sometimes take four to six weeks to heal without playing in games. Spiller appeared in the two games prior to Sunday’s game at New Orleans.

The rest Sunday however, may prove to be valuable for Spiller’s recovery.

“With C.J. we’re going to test it out Monday or Tuesday,” said Marrone.
