CFB Playoff to continue $2.5K stipend for family travel

by -

The College Football Playoff (CFP) announced today that it will continue its program to offset expenses for student-athletes’ parents or guardians to travel to the Playoff Semifinals and the College Football Playoff National Championship.

The $2,500 stipend per student-athlete is intended to help with expenses for hotel accommodations, travel and meals for up to 125 families from each participating institution.

“We are delighted to continue this program for the participants of the College Football Playoff,” said Bill Hancock, executive director of the CFP. “It is a terrific benefit for our student-athletes and one the university presidents and conference commissioners who manage the playoff are proud to support.”

Last year the CFP distributed $1.5 million to the four participating teams in the Playoff Semifinals and national championship game.
