Clemson fans have stepped up to help former defensive back Brian Mance, and now Mance wants to thank the fans for their support.

Mance, the secondary coach at Wofford, began experiencing pain on July 4th and after a week in the hospital was diagnosed with neurosarcoidosis, a rare autoimmune disorder. He spent 21 days in the hospital and on July 25th was transferred to a rehabilitation center that specializes in the type of extensive therapy that will help him to regain mobility. This rehabilitation center is more than 75 miles from their home.

A family friend set up a GoFundMe page for Brian and his family with a goal of raising $65,000. TigerNet reported on the page, and to date, almost $40,000 has been raised.

Mance reached out to say thank you.

"I am so grateful to be a part of the Clemson family," he said in an email. "You all have been so supportive during this difficult time for my family and I. I am continuing to make progress each and every day. Thank you so much for your prayers, support, and the donations given to us. We are truly thankful."
