Bowl Projection for Clemson

Bowl Projection for Clemson

by - Assoc. Editor -

CBSSports.com has released its bowl projections after week two action and Clemson (2-0, 0-0 ACC) is projected to play No.3 seed Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl on Dec. 31 in Glendale, Arizona.

"Clemson [#2 overall seed] is on the brink of being knocked out of these projections, though," Jerry Palm said. "After struggling to score against Auburn last week, you would have thought the Tigers would get healthy against Troy in their home opener. That didn't happen. Clemson did prevail, but only by a score of 30-24. If the Tigers can't tighten things up soon, they will be out of these projections by Oct. 1, when they host Louisville, which is off to a fantastic start."

The other playoff projection was Alabama (#1 overall seed) vs. Houston (#4 overall seed) in the Peach Bowl.

Other selection committee bowl games included projections for the Sugar Bowl (Oklahoma vs. Ole Miss), Rose Bowl (Ohio State vs. UCLA), Cotton Bowl (Iowa vs. Georgia), and the Orange Bowl (Florida State vs. Notre Dame).

Clemson's rival South Carolina was included in the bowl projection in the Birmingham Bowl against Tulsa on Dec. 29.
