From ESPN:

He was Clemson's X factor all season, and in the ACC championship game win over Virginia Tech, Allen caught two passes, both touchdowns, and broke Bennie Cunningham's record for touchdown catches by a tight end with eight. Cunningham had seven in 1974. Allen has established Clemson records for receptions (48) and reception yards (577) for a tight end this year. He started all 13 games and was third on the team in receiving with 577 yards. He also had seven plays over 20 yards -- including a 54-yard reception -- and was a first-team all-ACC selection.
