made the 53-man roster for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the weekend.

Humphries was nervous before hearing the great news from his head coach Lovie Smith.

"Things were looking good for me, but you never know in this league," Humphries said via the Tampa Bay Times. "He told me (Lovie Smith) I'd earned it, that I had done a good job in camp this fall. That was pretty cool to hear it from the head coach. I was jumping around the room, pretty excited."

Humphries has been cross-training at all three wide receiver positions and also might get a chance to start at punt returner.

"Our offensive coordinator is really strict on details," Humphries said. "Getting here was tough, learning all the splits for different routes, and you had to learn three positions. Getting the details down was tough, but I feel comfortable there now and hopefully I can just go out and prove I can do all three."

Humphries was an undrafted rookie but earned a free agent contract after impressing the Bucs' coaches in a two-day tryout back in May.

He had 127 receptions for 1,097 yards and three touchdowns during his college career.
