Venables playing as Oklahoma QB at Clemson practice

Clemson defensive coach Brent Venables is a talented defensive coordinator but is he a decent quarterback too?

Apparently yes as he has prepared his team in the role of Baker Mayfield in some of Clemson's recent practices.

“Awful arm. He has a terrible arm,” Ben Boulware said about Venables via Tulsaworld.com. “His throwing motion is so ugly. It’s bad.”

Venables gets really into practice and even gets tackled by some of the Clemson players.

“We’ve tackled him a couple times,” Boulware said. “Shaq Lawson sacked him last week and threw him to the ground. It was hilarious. Venables loved it. It shot a fire under his butt. We all got so excited because he was cussing us all during practice and Shaq goes and blasts him.”

Boulware knows that Venables is "All-In" in trying to prepare his fellow teammates against Oklahoma.

“It shows his will to win. He’s willing to do anything,” Boulware said. “He’s willing to get tackled by Shaq Lawson because he wants to win so bad. It shows his desire.”
