Swinney discusses his dancing style, crowd surfing

by - Assoc. Editor -

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney answered questions for the weekly ACC media teleconference on Wednesday and had the following to say about his unique dancing style.

"Well, I guess if you've seen me dance, you can tell that there's not much premeditation in it," Swinney said. "I don't have a lot of coaching going on. But we just have fun. My boys mess with me all the time, these players do."

Swinney want his players to have fun when they win football games.

"But I do believe that we want to have a culture and an atmosphere here that when we win, man, it's fun," Swinney said. "I don't ever want to be a part of a program or a place that when you win, it ain't no fun. I think that's sad. It's too hard to win, and again, I don't care how you win. Ugly wins are a beautiful thing. They really are. I'd take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day, and I've had some of those. But regardless of how your segment played if you're a coach or maybe as a player how you played, as a team if we find a way to win a team 3-2, 69-68, whatever, man, let's celebrate that. If it's not fun to win, then it's time to do something else in my opinion. There's always things to improve, and there's a time and a place for that, but I do believe in celebrating a victory and having some fun with your guys. It's a crazy day and age now where everything you do people got a camera somewhere. I don't think about that stuff. We just have fun."

Swinney was also asked by a reporter if he would ever crowd surf like BYU's head coach Bronco Mendenhall did.

"You never know," Swinney said. "You never know. I have no idea. You never know."
