Swinney discusses Orange Bowl, Lawson, Alabama on the Jim Rome Show

by - Assoc. Editor -

“It’s just awesome,” Swinney said on playing Alabama. “I think that if you would have asked me, ok you’re going to coach in your first National Championship game and how would you want it to go, I think I would pick Alabama. Because again, if you want to be the best, I think that you got to beat the best. If you really want to have the credibility and Alabama, this is their fourth National Championship in seven years, I mean, are you kidding me? They’ve won fifteen already and in our program, we have one and that trophy is lonely, I walk by it all the time, sitting down there, and we need to add to it. So to have the opportunity to beat the team that has represented the standard in college football to me that’s the way it should be.”
