WATCH: Vic Beasley hammers the Golden Spike for Atlanta United |
Former Clemson defensive end and current Falcons' linebacker Vic Beasley hammered the Golden Spike before the Atlanta United match at Georgia Tech’s Bobby Dodd Stadium on Sunday.
The Golden Spike is a tradition where Atlanta United Supporters sign the Golden Spike 90 minutes before a match and then approximately 45 minutes before kickoff, supporters will march to the stadium carrying the spike. Once in the stadium, the Golden Spike will be hammered into the railroad platform fronting the supporters section with the stadium chanting…. A-T-L…A-T-L….A-T-L. Our boy @VicBeasley3 did the honors of hammering the Golden Spike for today's @ATLUTD match!#UniteAndConquer pic.twitter.com/5Rl16bSofq It was an honor. Such a great atmosphere. I can't wait to see what that crowd is going to be like in @MBStadium! https://t.co/omo4wWvz8W
