WATCH: Terrell, Mullen discuss cornerback depth including freshmen

by - Assoc. Editor -

One of the critical parts of any successful defense in college football is cornerback play with all the defensive backs on an island making plays in space.

Clemson sophomore cornerback A.J. Terrell spoke to the media following Monday night's practice and talked about several topics including the competition at his position with new freshmen defensive backs Kyler McMichael and Mario Goodrich.

"They both come in good size and everything," Terrell said. "We have to get them right in the film room and get them right quicker by getting the plays down fast so we can have depth. They will be a big improvement if we get them right."

Clemson junior cornerback Trayvon Mullen also discussed the addition of the two new cornerbacks to the secondary.

"I feel like they wanna play," Mullen said about Goodrich and McMichael. "I feel they can put a lot more into it to get better and that's what like an older guy come in like me and help them and groom them up to be their best for game day. It's difficult because you have to know what to do and how to do it and learn to play at a higher level. They got a lot more learning to do but we are going to push them to get to that level."
