Former Clemson defensive back Coty Sensabaugh and his fiance are asking their friends and family to give shoes to needy children in lieu of a traditional wedding gift.

"We wanted to do a little something different and we both are extremely giving and believe in blessing others,” Sensabaugh said via nflplayerengagement.com. "Dom actually did a mission trip to the Dominican Republic when we were (at Clemson) and she thoroughly enjoyed it. She had been doing some research and found Soles4Souls. We decided to partner with them and they’ve been great."

Soles4Souls has distributed 26 million pairs of new shoes in 127 countries around the world and all 50 states in the U.S.

"So far, through our church, Mt. Zion, in Nashville, we have raised over 11,000 shoes," Sensabaugh said. "Our goal is to raise 25,000. I absolutely think (we can reach the goal). Our community has been very giving. Just people hearing about it and spreading the word has helped a lot."
