WATCH: Deon Cain runs impressive 40 at NFL combine |
Former Clemson receiver
Deon Cain ran one of the standout 40-times of his group at the NFL combine Saturday morning.
Cain dashed an official 40-time of 4.43 seconds, which stood at fourth-best among his receiver peers. He improved from a 4.46 unofficial time on his first try. Former teammate Ray Ray McCloud was in the same group and improved from a 4.6 unofficial to a 4.53 official in his two tries. "Ray Ray is another run-after-catch, space kinda player - bubble screens, jet sweeps - quicker than he is fast (guy)," NFL Network's Mike Mayock said, adding that the 4.53 was a "much more legitimate time for him." McCloud went on to impress in deep pass and gauntlet drills. In the bench press Friday, McCloud did 13 reps and Cain did 11 reps. The two are slated to compete in vertical leap, broad jump, 3-cone drill, 20-yard shuttle and 60-yard shuttle drills as well. LSU's D.J. Clark led the way with the only sub-4.4 time of the group at 4.34, followed by Florida's Antonio Calloway (4.41) and Alabama's Robert Foster (4.41). .@ClemsonFB's Deon Cain (@cainera1_) runs a 4.44u 40-yard dash in his second attempt! #NFLCombine #Sickles HS (FL) alum & #Clemson #Tigers WR Ray Ray McCloud (@RMIII_34) runs a 4.54 in the 40 on his 2nd attempt at the #NFLCombine pic.twitter.com/T3xGdOqpNl .@ClemsonFB WR Deon Cain is fluid.
