WATCH: Clemson football freshmen highlights |
Clemson football released a series of videos Wednesday giving an inside look into the first fall camp and game-week prep for the freshman Tigers.
The first the freshmen will talk to the media is after Saturday’s game, if they see action, but all of the new class were asked impressions on the preseason and competing in the videos. “The atmosphere is real competitive,” backup defensive end Justin Foster said. “The speed is totally different from back home in high school ball. It's just a fun atmosphere and everybody comes out here and has fun and balls.” “It's great. Everybody wants to be out here and get better,” camp-standout running back Travis Etienne said. “Everybody wants to play and everybody wants a starting job. It's the best going against the best and you better bring it every day.” The two incoming freshman quarterbacks had their say as well. “Really Kelly (Bryant), Hunter (Johnson) and Zerrick (Cooper) have helped me throughout (camp),” Grayson (Ga.) product Chase Brice said. “I think the competition brings out the best in all of us. It's only going to make me better and make all of us better.” “As coach (Brandon) Streeter would say, iron sharpens iron,” said Johnson, who along with Cooper, is expected to see playing time this season. “We're just in there grinding and competing with each other and testing each other and we're all getting better.” Check out highlights and insight from Tee Higgins, A.J. Terrell and more Tigers below:
