Hometown hero Vic Beasley Jr. returned back to Adairsville, Ga. on Saturday morning to receive the keys to the city and see the unveiling of the city's new "Home of Vic Beasley Jr." signs.
The signs will go up at each city limit marker when the Georgia Department of Transportation installs the new signs.
200 people were at the event including Adairsville Mayor Kenneth Carson.
"It's a joyous occasion," Carson said via daily-tribune.com. "This is something that the council and I thought we needed to do. He has made a footprint on the national level, and he's from Adairsville. We wanted to show him how much we appreciate all that he's done to make it to the level he's made it at."
Beasley does a lot of community work in his hometown, and he has always felt the love from Adairsville.
"Wanted to take this time out to thank my hometown for all the love and support you show towards me," Beasley posted on Facebook. "I thank God for you all and truly appreciate all you do! ALL GLORY TO GOD!"
