VT listed as a trap opponent for Clemson

Clemson won their first National Championship since 1981 with their thrilling last-second 35-31 win over Alabama this past season. However, Tiger fans are anxious for the new season to begin to watch the post-Watson era begin for their football team. Clemson will kick off their 2017 regular season with a home contest against Kent State on September 2.

Sporting News released their trap games for their Top 16 teams this upcoming season and has Virginia Tech listed as a team that could trip up Clemson.

"Tough to call an ACC championship game rematch a trap game (Virginia Tech), but it comes after back-to-back games against Auburn and Louisville earlier in the month," Sporting News. "It’s a long first month for the defending national champion."

The Tigers will face off against the Hokies on Saturday, Sept. 30 at Lane Stadium.
