Two former Tigers expected success for Clemson in 2015

Former Clemson players Ebo Ogundeko and Shaq Anthony both transferred out of the Clemson football program and have both landed at Tennessee State.

Tennessee State plays in the Ohio Valley Conference, and the institution is located in Nashville, Tennessee.

Anthony told The Tennesseean that this was the season that his former Clemson teammates thought they would make a run for a national championship.

"When my class came in at Clemson this was the year we all talked about being the year that we would make a run for the national championship," Anthony said. "We had a lot of great young players; several top recruiting classes that had been brought in. The biggest thing we needed was leadership. We felt like if that came together, which I believe it has, this would be the year we were going to go all the way."

Anthony lettered at Clemson in 2012 and 2013 and played in 17 games over those two years, five as a starter.

Ebo Ogundeko believes that the Clemson football team has superior talent and should win out this season.

"I totally expect them to win out because they're better than everybody they have left to play," Ogundeko said. "We lost a lot of players on the defense to the NFL Draft, but there were plenty who had been mentored by those guys who were ready to step up and play."

Ogundeko regrets the legal troubles he made in the past and wishes he was still part of Clemson's #1 ranked team.

"Honestly, I miss it every week when I see them play," Ogundeko said. "It's a big difference playing there and playing here. I regret the opportunity that I missed, but I just have to make the best of it here."

Ogundeko had 16 total snaps and five tackles at Clemson.
