Clemson backup senior cornerback Mark Fields and junior wide receiver Cornell Powell are officially out for the Syracuse game (ABC televised) according to Clemson officials.

Swinney will address the reasons after the game.

Powell has made his mark on kickoff returns with a 29.3 yards per average. He also has five catches for 63 yards this season.

Fields' absence leaves Clemson with two scholarship veterans at cornerback in starters A.J. Terrell and Trayvon Mullen . He has one pass breakup and four stops on the season. With 15 snaps this season, true freshman Mario Goodrich is listed behind Fields on the depth chart.
