Tony Elliott talks Clemson QB switch

by - Assoc. Editor -

Clemson co-offensive coordinator Tony Elliott spoke with the media Monday discussing the announcement that the new starting quarterback for the Syracuse game will be freshman standout Trevor Lawrence.

"We sat down and had a staff meeting and we evaluate every player, every position's performance and after four games just looking at it, both of them have played well, done a lot for us," Elliott said. "It just came down to you have to reward productivity. If you look at his productivity, he has taken advantage of them. Kelly didn't do anything wrong."

For the season, Lawrence is 39-for-60 passing for 600 yards with nine touchdowns and only two interceptions for a QB rating of 191.8.
